Passport Service

Ethiopian Passports may be renewed through the Ethiopian Embassy Consular Section for a further period of five years. Passports cannot be renewed if another Citizenship (eg Israelian citizenship) has been taken. Applicants may be required to establish that they have not taken another Citizenship.  

Applicants for a new Ethiopian passport, they have to bring the following items:  

Four Recent Photos Application forms in both Amharic & English Language. 250 NIS, Students 125 NIS. Any documents that could verify Ethiopian Citizenship. (Birth Certificate, I.D. Card, Drivers License, etc.) If the applicant has taken an Israel Resident Permit for more than two years, he/she has to provide a non-citizenship letter from the relevant authorities (Misrad Haprim). Authentication of Documents

Documents must first be authorised and stamped by the legalisation department of the Foreign Minister office in Israel.

Original document and its copy should be presented to the consular department of the embassy.
